Back Issues of the Wailers News March 1997
Congratulations!-
Bunny Wailer was awarded the 1997 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album of the Year, for his album, "Hall of Fame: A Tribute To Bob Marley's 50th Anniversary". His double-album features 52 tracks and is on the RAS Records label. This is Bunny's third Grammy Award, and is well deserved.
More On The Peter Tosh Box Set
Reportedly, the Peter Tosh box set is being changed. There will be 3 discs; one for rare and unreleased tracks, one for speeches and album tracks, and one for live tracks. The set will also have a song, "Honorary Citizen", which was an unfinished song that Peter's cousin, Pauline Morris, finished up. The release date is still in April, even with these changes. Click the "tosh box" icon on the left to see a complete track list for this irie compilation.
Wailin' At The Grammys-
At the 1997 Grammy Awards, the Fugees performed their cover of Bob Marley's "No Woman, No Cry". What was special about this performance was that playing along with the Fugees was The Wailers Band, the I-Threes, Stephen, Julian and Damian Marley. This marked the first ever live reggae performance in the 39 year history of the Grammys.
