Wailers Albums Named Most Essential -
The May 15th Rolling Stone Magazine named The Wailers' "Burnin'" album from 1973, and Bob Marley & The Wailers' "Live!" album from 1975, as two of the 200 Essential Rock Albums of All Time. The magazine called Burnin', "Funky and dense, slow and steady, 'Burnin' ignited worldwide interest in the sounds of Jamaica." The magazine called "Live!", "a commanding concert document - no extended jams or jive talk here."

Bass Player Magazine named Bob Marley & The Wailers' album, "Babylon By Bus" from 1978, as one of the top 30 albums to own for the best bass sound. BMW bassist Aston "Family Man" Barrett is also given high regards in the article.

Wailers' Lyrics Become Web Pages -
Two different organizations have used Wailers' songs as their web addresses. The first, Amnesty International, uses "Get Up Stand Up": www.getupstandup.com. The site features, among many other things, downloadable versions of "Get Up Stand Up" by such legendary artists as Richie Havens and John Lee Hooker.

The second site, Catch A Fire, uses the lyrics from the song "Slave Driver": www.catchafire.com. The site's goal is to "highlight progressive, positive issues and art as an alternative to the widespread, prevalent images of us broadcast by the media today and to promote unity and self-determination among people of color."

Bob Marley's Official Site -
There is now an Official Bob Marley web page at: www.bobmarley.com. The site was created under the supervision of the Bob Marley Music, Inc., and the Marley family estate. The site features essays, interviews, excellent pictures, and much more!

A Marley On A Game Show?-

Yes it's true! Ziggy Marley was the answer to a question on the "Debt" gameshow, hosted by Wink Martindale, which airs on the Lifetime cable network. The question was in a reggae category. The question was something to the effect of "This reggae singer's father conquered the world with his reggae." None of the contestants answered the question correctly.
