New And Forthcoming Releases-

Recently Discovered Studio One Tracks - Duet tracks sung by Junior Braithwaite (one of the original lead vocals of The Wailers) and Bob Marley were recently discovered. However, the backing muisc will be overdubbed by modern day musicians (similar to the Soul Almighty Enhanced CD-ROM). Release Date and Record Label Unknown.

New Enhanced CD-ROM - The second in a series of Bob Marley Enhanced CD-ROM's will be released on his 52nd birthday on February 6, 1997, on the JAD Records label. The disc is slated to include several never before heard songs from the periods of 1967 to 1971.

Bob Marley In Dub- The album will be called Bob Marley: Devotional Mix Translation.The album will be done by Bill Laswell and released on the Island Records label, and will consist of ambient dub remixes of Bob Marley & The Wailers tracks from their original masters. The album will include such classic tracks as No Woman No Cry, Them Belly Full, Rebel Music, Exodus, and more.

A New Bob Marley & The Wailers Video Release- Neville Garrick is in the process of acquiring the rights to the Amandla "Festival Of Unity" Concert that Bob Marley & The Wailers performed on July 21, 1979 in Boston, Massachusetts at Harvard Stadium. Many call this Bob's best performance of his career.




Bob's Life As Told By His Mother-

Cedella Marley Booker, Bob Marley's mother, has a new book out on Penguin Press, about her life as the mother of Bob. The book is entitled Bob Marley: An Intimate Portrait By His Mother. For more information, click the picture on the left.





A Grammy In Sight?-

Congratulations and good luck to Bunny Wailer, who has been nominated for a Grammy, for Best Reggae Album of the Year, for his "Hall Of Fame: A Tribute To Bob Marley 50th Anniversary" album, released in 1995 on the Ras Records label. Other nominees include Sister Carol, The Skatalites, Gregory Issacs, and Maxi Priest.

Bob Marley Festivals-

  • The Fourth Annual Bob Marley Festival will be held on Saturday, February 8, 1997 in Downtown Miami. Bob Marley Movement of Jah People announced the lineup for the event, and will include such groups as the entire Marley family (including The Melody Makers, Julian, Damian, Kymani, and Cedella Marley Booker). The event will have special guest appearances by Culture, Wyclef (from the Fugees), The Abyssinians, and actor Woody Harrelson (from Cheers fame), among many others. The event will take place at the AT&T Ampitheater at Bayfront Park, 301 Biscayne Blvd. , in Downtown Miami. Admission is three (3) cans of food and $5.00 which will go to benefit the Camillus House.
