Back Issues of the Wailers News April 1998
The listing is nearly the same as we listed in last months issue, with the exception of the new editions of the songs, "Concrete Jungle", a second alternate take of "Screwface", plus the dub of "Keep On Skanking."
As we stated last month Blum tells us that, "Some progress has been made on the possibility of releasing a third CD as part of 'Part III' but nothing has been decided for sure yet."
Here's the revised & definite track list:
Another music legend who would have celebrated his birthday this month is the one and only, Marvin Gaye. Gaye was born on April 2nd, 1939 in Washington, DC. Not only did Gaye have an influence on the face of soul and R&B music, but also on all musics in general.
Chances are most people reading this will not be able to attend, but the concert is planning on being filmed as part of a documentary "made of the entire trip from Miami to Dakar." Also scheduled to perform at this event are Patra, Mad Cobra, and Mr. Sunday. For more information check out the event's official website by clicking HERE!
So you might be asking yourself, what's so special about Ky-Mani's appearance at this event? Well among other things, this show is nearly 18 years to the day that his father (Bob) perfomed at Zimbabwe's Independence Celebration on April 17th & 18th in 1980. It isn't everyday that non-African musicians play at the anniversary of a country's Independence. This should be quite an event.
Ky-Mani is also scheduled to release his first official solo album on the Shang Records label. Check for it soon!
In other Melody Makers news, those with RealAudio capabilities can hear a live concert in it's entirety from Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers, as it happens, on April 8th. The show will broadcast live from the House Of Blues in Los Angeles, California. Get all of the info by clicking HERE!
Among other covers featured, there is a large exhibit with the August 1976 issue of Rolling Stone, with Bob Marley on the cover and featured in the issue. It's completely free, so check HERE to see if it's coming some place near you.
Well, Junior is going to play his first ever concert outside of Jamaica, at this years 5th Annual Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, from June 19-21 at the Feather River in Marysville, California. To find out more on this show visit the Jammin' Reggae Archives' section on the festival HERE!
"When Will Better Come"? When Junior hits the stage!!
Once again, the material on these bootleg CDs is very questionable!! We don't know what year the bootlegs are from, or any other info about them, except for their titles. As usual with bootleg cd buying, let the bootleg buyer beware!
